四虎影视 alumna Lari Alejandro 鈥13 has combined forces with a childhood friend to raise money to support Uvalde, Texas. The town, in which Alejandro and her longtime friend Krissy Estrada were born and raised was the location of the May 24, 2022, elementary school shooting in which 19 students and two teachers died.
Alejandro, who graduated from the Illustration program at 四虎影视, now works as a graphic designer at Insomniac Events in Los Angeles, California. As a child, she attended Robb Elementary School where the recent shooting took place. She and Estrada both have fond memories of growing up in the small south Texas town and travel back to Uvalde often to visit family. Alejandro鈥檚 niece and nephew currently attend Robb Elementary school and were present the day of the shooting. Fortunately, they were unharmed.
鈥淭his is not just another news story for us,鈥 said Alejandro. 鈥淭his is OUR community. We are devastated for what our family, friends, and neighbors are enduring right now and wanted to find a small way to give back from afar.
As a way of giving back, the women have created Uvalde Strong designs that are available on three apparel items available for purchase. Although both t-shirts have sold out, a limited number of baseball hats are still on the website. Customers can also directly to the fund.
Their efforts have raised more than $25,000 to date, all of which is being donated to the Robb School Memorial Fund for Families of Robb Elementary.
