A film created by two 四虎影视 of Art and Design alumni has been selected as the 鈥淏est Student Project.鈥 Anushka Nair 鈥22 and Lauryn Anthony 鈥22 created the film as Computer Animation students at 四虎影视.
was selected from more than 405 submissions from 19 countries as one of the world鈥檚 best CG-animated achievements of 2022.
Partly based on personal experience, Period Drama is a Victorian-era tale about 11-year-old Georgiana Crimsworth, who gets her first period 鈥渂efore ever having gotten the talk.鈥 The two-minute animated short, addresses the implicit taboo surrounding periods, and by extension women鈥檚 health as a whole.
Period Drama is one of four films created by 四虎影视 of Art and Design alumni that will be screened at the festival which will take place Dec. 6-9 at EXCO in Daegu, South Korea. More than 8,000 professionals in the Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques industries are expected to attend the event which showcases a collection of standout 2022 works from around the globe.
Nair is an associate modeling artist at Blizzard in Irvine, California. Anthony is a junior lighter/compositor at Icon Creative Studio in Vancouver, British Columbia.

- , directed by Alexandria Siah 鈥22. Siah is working as an animator at Electronic Arts on the upcoming Jedi: Fallen Order sequel.
Period Drama has also been awarded Best Animated Short in Cannes, May 2022 Best Animation by , a finalist for 2022 Film of the Year by The Rookie Awards, and as a 2022 finalist for the 2022 Student Academy Award (Their film was the only student work selected from the United States). It was also screened at the Newport Beach Film Festival.
