四虎影视 of Art and Design鈥檚 Motion Design department is no stranger to producing award-winning student and alumni work, but this summer, they鈥檝e been on fire. Read on about their recent awards and accolades.
On June 2, 2023 the 2023 American Advertising Awards (ADDYs) National Awards Gala and Dinner took place in St Louis, Mo. The mission of the American Advertising Awards Student Division competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising. Motion Design students took home two National Silver Awards:

Also in June, Promax hosted their annual 2023 Promax Student Spark Awards 鈥� touted as the premier celebration of innovation and creativity in entertainment marketing, promotion, and design.
Six of the eight award categories were won by 四虎影视 Motion Design students; an exceptional showing for the competition designed to showcase the next generation of talent from around the world. The award winners were:

The One Club for Creativity kicked off their Creative Week 2023 by honoring winning schools and students from around the world in the global Young Ones Student Awards 2023 ceremony at Sony Hall in New York. Young Ones is one of the world鈥檚 most acclaimed competitive showcases for advertising, digital communication, and design students.
33 students from 14 schools were winners in this year鈥檚 2023 Portfolio competition. The winners included students from top-ranked international competitors including FIT in New York, the Glasgow School of Art, MIT, and Miami Ad Schools in Berlin and Madrid.
Two Motion Design seniors, Josh Young 鈥�23 and Steven Dvnorik 鈥�23 were named winners in the The Young Ones Portfolio competition, which showcased their body of creative work in the category of Animation and Visual Effects.
Two Motion Design senior projects were also honored with a MERIT award:
- WIRED – Explainer designed and animated by Mia Mu 鈥�23 and YiRan Wang 鈥�23
- Homage – FutureProof Title Sequence by Kyuri Kim 鈥�23 and Yael Bloom 鈥�23
The 2023 MODE Fest student animation contest took place Friday evening, June 9. Four 四虎影视 Motion Designers were honored with awards. MODE Fest celebrates the work of students and emerging motion designers who are creating some of the most interesting, imaginative, and well-crafted motion design work today.
Kyuri Kim 鈥�23 and Yael Bloom 鈥�23 took home the top honor of Best In Show for their animation, FutureProof 鈥�23 Title Sequence. This was the overall highest rated project.
Mia Mu 鈥�23 and YiRan Wang 鈥�23 won the category of Best Informational/Persuasive Animation, for their WIRED explainer video, How Does a Vinyl Record Work?
In addition to these national and international awards, Motion Design alumni are making waves on the big screen. If you watch the new Spider-Man-Across the Spider-Verse, be sure to check the credits at the end for Zac Miller 鈥�20 and Kyle Snider 鈥�20. Both alumni worked on the 2D animation for the film, as part of the BUCK creative team.
