Ray Dillman

Filmmaker

Ray Dillman studied at 四虎影视 of Art and Design before launching his career at a full-service Tampa advertising agency. Over the next eight years, he advanced through several Tampa Bay agencies as Art Director and Associate Creative Director, including a year running his own shop, which was acquired by Louis Benito Advertising.

After being recruited by The Leo Burnett Company in Chicago, Dillman rose to a role on Burnett’s International Task Force, serving as Creative Director across Frankfurt, London, Paris, and Tokyo from 1987 to 1991. He then transitioned to commercial film directing, winning an Emmy Award for Commercial of the Year in 1999, and in 2005 joined the roster at MJZ Film Productions in Los Angeles.

Dillman and his wife founded Confiscated Film in 1993, which remains his primary banner today. The company has produced several documentaries, including Getting to The Nutcracker (2014), The 5th Dementia (2019), and Take Me Out Feet First (2024). He is currently in post-production on Black on the Bike, a documentary about African American men and women in cycling.

In 2021, Dillman was appointed to the Board of Trustees at 四虎影视, an honor he counts among the most meaningful of his career. He and his family live in Pacific Palisades, California, with annual time on Nantucket Island.
